King of the Waves from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Well, there isn't much to show for what got done yesterday, but I accomplished MUCH!

The first thing on the agenda was the two UFO Zoom classes. The UFO Club will undoubtedly continue in 2024, which is partially why some of the other stuff must go. I'm continually struggling to get anything done, and it's not that I don't want to contribute to the donation fund; it's that I want to get working on these UFOs. So there will be less NEW and more focus on completing the UFOs!

I'm thrilled about that!

Once ...

You've got mail!! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I love Liz's comment from yesterday's post about changing up the route you walk! I have to confess that I mostly keep Murphy to the same walk. And that is done intentionally. If we change up the course, she gets even more excited than she already is, and well - I suspect that some of my knee and low back issues are a result of walking that very excitable dog! I have to keep TWO hands on the leash - not always, but at times, especially when passing a squirrel convention, which happens daily!

Lexi, on the other hand, gets ...

Keep the FAITH from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Yesterday was D  -Day. D for delivery! And while I was out traipsing around, I received an e-mail from that UPS supervisor who is now my superhero. He was following up! You could have knocked me over when I saw that. He said he saw the package was marked as received, and could I verify that. And indeed it was received!! What a huge relief, and what a nice gesture from the UPS guy to follow up!!

Well, I'm a wee bit behind again this morning, but no fault other than my own. I had to prep the homework ...

Where did that deadline come from? from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

So I was tidying up the Current Projects table a couple of days ago, and OH MY - what's this? Why that's the Trendtex Challenge for the upcoming Canadian Quilter's Association virtual quilt show in June. Hmm - what's the deadline? OH -- for the quilts to be part of the judging process, they need to be received by April 5. OH!

Well, that's doable! When I first received the kit months ago, an idea had popped into my head, and no better idea came along. So I decided to go for it. Normally, I try to do ...

The finish line from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I did it! I crossed the finish line shortly after 9 PM last night! That was a marathon with 22 presentations in two weeks, plus eight classes of my own and some Monday sewing with my group! Am I Zoomed out? No - but I was happy to shut the lights down last night! I love all the chatter with the various groups - we're having so much fun and getting to see some amazing show and tell! I love the show and tell because it means that people are using their sewing and embroidery machines.

I love it even better ...

Back to normal? from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Yesterday was a bizarre day. At the end of the day, I didn't feel like I had accomplished much. Why? Well, for starters, I did a couple of NORMAL things, and they both consumed a LOT of time. How quickly we forget how time-consuming errands can be!

I got my hair cut! And can you believe that I messed up the time? Got the right time (almost), but on the wrong date! Fortunately, Paula wasn't very busy, so she could accommodate me into her schedule. Seriously??  I had to laugh about it as I didn't even have ...

Virtual Retreats ROCK! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Oh my gosh - we had so much fun yesterday. Yes, I know that we were not in the same room, but we laughed, shared stories, shared show and tell, saw Mary's toy sewing machine collection, and well, a couple of other things that can't be shared - yet! And seriously, where else could we have so much fun with people from all over Ontario, Alberta, and Germany. That just wouldn't happen in real life.

I love Zoom. And I'd be happy to keep Zooming for a long, long time. We even had a toast around 7 PM ...

Change - is a "good" thing from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I've noticed that the interface that I use to post my blogs has been changing. I'd see the "new" interface but quickly found the button to revert to the old. I see the new interface this morning and I did NOT see the button to revert back. Well, I should just suck it up and get used to the new. It appears that the functions are the same - just different formatting.

Before you know it, I won't even know the difference and certainly won't remember the old interface. Change is good - let's move forward - onward ...

One more quilt done! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Another deadline bites the dust!

I got the quilting done on my Trend Tex challenge. Then it was time to put the binding on. Hmm - this was a bit complicated, and despite the small size, it took a bit of finagling to get that binding on. I was almost finished when I noticed a wee glitch. No one is going to see that - well, they might, but it's a design element now.

Because the binding was a bit unusual, I had to hand stitch it down. The hanging sleeve got attached, as well as a label. Then I walked ...

Ooops - I did it again from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I'm listening to an audiobook at the moment called Finding Chika by Mitch Albom. It's a short one, so I hope to finish it today. It's about a Haitian child who was brought to the US because of a serious brain tumor. She does die - I'm not looking forward to that part of the book. The audiobook is way more interesting and fun than the actual hard copy of the book. The author reads the book, and there are audio clips of Chika and Mitch throughout the book. It's fun to actually hear some of ...
